Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen was founded by Moulay ALI BEN RACHID in 1471 who decided de build a fortified city to defend and protect the region from the SPANISH and PORTUGUESE attacks that had conquered CEUTA in 1415 which end now is Moroccan land but under SPANISH rule, because of these conflicts in those times thus arose the casbah, a fortress in the heart of the city that now houses the ethnographic museum but between the 15th and 17th centuries the city expanded considerably, thus gathering the arrival of the MUSULMANES THE EBREANS expelled from Spain at the time of the CATHOLIC conquest ended in 1492.
Morocco varies considerably so much, ranging from the beautiful dunes durate de Chegaga and Merzouga of the Sahara in the SOUTH-EAST to the borders with Algeria,to the verdant plains of the north,to the imposing Atlas Mountains, passing through imperial cities, In the midst of all this mosaic of nature lies the magnificent Chefchaouen or simply Chaouen as it is called for the locals, and Blue City by the tourists because of the endless shades of indigo blue that paint the houses and alleys of the old Andalusian stell city. CHEFCHAOUEN is one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco and most unique in the Mediterranean.
Perched in the mountains it is located in the NORTHWEST of Morocco, amidst the green mountains of the RIF.Thanks to the newcomers MORI Muslims and Jews the cita de Chefchaouen owes so much to the Andalusian architecture that characterize the old part of the old town made with walls, doors, windows ,balconies, of the Andalusian style houses but also alleys and stairways ,stores, fountains, and flower pots . with labyrinthine of its streets and whitewashed houses, the city offers a relaxing and authentic atmosphere to its visitors and a rich cultural heritage in which ARRABO and ANDALUSO influences blend.
